This article is about Brittle Bones, similar in appearance to Compound Fracture.

Brittle Bones is an unlockable passive item added in The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth † (Booster Pack #5).

Effects[ | ]

  • When being picked up:
  • Upon losing a Bone Heart, including ones acquired from other sources, Isaac fires a ring of 8 bones that split into more bones.
    • (except in Repentance) Each Bone Heart lost adds a permanent +0.5 tears up.
    • (in Repentance) Each Bone Heart lost adds a permanent +0.4 fire rate, which can break the tear fire rate cap.
    • Each bone does twice Isaac's damage plus a flat 22 damage; split bones do half this amount.

  • (in Repentance) Losing Bone Hearts through a Devil Deal will not give the tears up effect.
