Modes[edit | edit source]

  • Greed Mode and Greedier Mode now pull from all floors on the main path, and play their respective music (as opposed to always being the main floor using the Afterbirth alt music)
  • Greedier Mode is getting slightly rebalanced according to this tweet by Edmund McMillen [1].

Characters[edit | edit source]

  • Eve and Magdalene have received new hair sprites.
  • Apollyon has new stage transition sprites.
  • Magdalene's Speed Up pill is now an HP Up.

Items[edit | edit source]

  • Tears are now properly circular instead of slightly polygonal.
  • The Added in Afterbirth †Adrenaline Adrenaline costume effect seems to be more subtle.
  • Items now cast shadows on item pedestals, which is more accurate to how they looked in the Flash version.
  • Added in AfterbirthMarked Marked grants a laser sight to show exactly where Isaac's tears are flying to. This change also applies to Eye of the Occult.
  • Added in Afterbirth †Duality Duality merges the numbers of the Devil and Angel deal chances on the Found HUD.
  • Enemies that get hit by a Added in Afterbirth †Little Horn Little Horn tear get attacked by Big Horn, which means that the tears are no longer piercing.
  • The Brimstone Brimstone costume has been changed a bit to more closely resemble the flash version.
  • Added in Afterbirth †Void Void has a new graphic.
  • Razor Blade Razor Blade now appears to have the shapes of holes in the center.
  • Scissors Scissors now has its blades recolored to look cleaner, as well as now having 4 charges.
  • Added in AfterbirthFarting Baby Farting Baby now has a unique farting animation, as well as being reshaped.
  • Added in AfterbirthGolden Horse Shoe Golden Horse Shoe Shoe is now resprited so that it looks more like a real horseshoe.

Pickups[edit | edit source]

  • Bombs, including Troll Bombs, now have sparks on their fuses when placed.
  • Heart pickups flash red when on the ground.
  • Coins have a new sound effect, which is reused from the Flash version.
  • Keys were given sparkles, similar to their Flash appearance.
  • Pickups sold in Shops now play their idle animation (hearts glow red, keys shine), another visual feature brought back from Flash.

Enemies[edit | edit source]

  • Small Leeches, Blurbs, Bubbles, Preys, and Lil Bub all have greenish reskins in Dross.
  • Sub Horfs can now replace regular Horfs outside Downpour.
  • Crispies and Mr. Mines have a slight face redesign.
  • Monsters now use a unique coloring method loosely based off of the overlay system from Antibirth which results in a cleaner looking Champion reskins, as opposed to the whole sprite being tinted a single color.
  • The dirt beneath underground enemies now changes color in real-time to accurately reflect the surface which they travel over.
  • The dirt beneath underground enemies no longer flashes when they take damage.
  • Big Horn has received a complete redesign of sprites.
  • Gushers have bold re-created gushing blood.
  • Fistula appears in The Caves The Caves, its location in the original Binding of Isaac.
  • Dingle, Dangle, Gemini and the Gurglings can now appear in the Burning Basement Burning Basement.
  • Mega Fatty can now appear in the Flooded Caves Flooded Caves

Menus[edit | edit source]

  • The drawings in the main menu are identical to those in Antibirth's.
  • The Black Fly on the Title Screen which has gone unused ever since the initial release of Rebirth has finally been added, and flies away when the player presses a button to enter the save select.

UI[edit | edit source]

  • The health bar flashes upon healing like in the Flash version.
  • The Found HUD has been replaced with Antibirth's implementation of Missing HUD.
  • New curse icons have been added below the minimap, and are multicolored to be more easily identifiable.

Environment[edit | edit source]

  • The Burning Basement has implemented new shaders giving it a cleaner visual look.
  • The color visuals of the Flooded Caves have been changed, also receiving reflections on the floor.
  • The visuals for the Dank Depths have been darkened, and rooms were made to look damp and slathered with tar.
  • The stage transition screen now changes to reflect the current chapter.
  • The starting room displays the keyboard/gamepad controls, similar to the flash version.
