Force Quit Exploit no longer working in afterbirth

Was wondering if anyone else was currently experiencing this in afterbirth (not plus) and if it would be proper to update the wiki as a result.

Blowing Up Donation Machine Question

One important question many people have should be answered in this article: If the donation machine blows up (due to reaching 1000 coins or by bombing it): Does that reset your shop upgrade levels? Or do the shop upgrades keep unlocked? --Anon

The page clearly mentions "Nothing unlocked through donations will be lost if the amount of coins in the donation machine is reduced in any way. Thus once something is unlocked it can never be locked again." --Anon

Reset to 0 notice

When I got the 999 coin donation achievement, I immediately bombed it to a lower number to see what happens if I start another run. I can confirm it doesn't reset to 0 if the run that got the 999 achievement ends up with less than 999 coins. However, I'm not sure if the "999 coins equals reset" is actually confirmed to begin with. --82.139.77.166 05:06, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

Can someone point me to a video that shows the machine resetting as a result of being bombed. I try and failed replicating this so far. --Dooomspeaker (talk) 19:17, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

I filled up the Donation Machine recently and got Pyro randomly in a run today, so I decided to test this resetting thing for Science(tm). After bombing the machine 100 times, it never reset to 0, so this seems to be false. Here's a screenshot. I'll remove this part now. --Zamie (talk) 03:19, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

Great. I've been telling people that the reset is bullshit for a while now. Since you back up my claim as well it'S gonna get ditched! Thanks for taking your time to confirm. --Dooomspeaker (talk) 10:42, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

Bombing the Machine

Actually, bombing the machine DOES have a chance to reset the counter. I did it in a run like 1 month ago and without knowing there was a debate here, so I don't have any screen, but trust me :3 In this moment the donation counter was under 200 coins, but i had some items to gain more coins for the donation than the loss when i bomb it. And Ipecac, so it was bombing party! A little detail btw, the machine wasn't jammed so I could see the progress of the bombing (yeah it was funny to see the counter "decrease"), so maybe this and/or the fact i didn't donated 999 coins are connected with this. 'cause yeah, before I could execute my devilish plan to be rich like cresus and finish the donation thing, I don't really remember if after a bomb the counter was set to 0 or if the machine was jammed, but after this bomb the machine didn't dropped any more coins... and in the next run i was like "WTF?!!!" when i saw the reset of the counter. So I decided to never do that again haha. I think I did it in less than 100 bombs. Oh, and the reset doesn't lose upgrades and achievement unlocked this far. :) That's it! Maybe you'll think I'm a troll but it's not a fake ^^ Maybe try that without a machine showing 999 coins or jammed. Sorry for mistakes btw, I'm not english :° See ya! --Anon

This doesn't constitute evidence enough to warrant editing the page. --Zamie (talk) 15:23, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Floor of the Donation Machine

I think the floor you are on affect the chance of machine blowing up? Or it affects the range for the number of times before it blows up? --Anon

There is currently no evidence to support this. --Zamie (talk) 15:23, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Donation Machine Jamming Chance on Hard Mode

Based off of a Hard Mode run I had recently where I donated 50 or so coins to the Donation Machine without it ever jamming, I have a theory that the chances of the Donation Machine jamming upon donation are lowered a bit in Hard Mode. I'll do some additional testing on this myself, but, if anyone would like to test this out as well that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! - Ordinarius (talk) 22:32, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

What was the result of your testing? --Zamie (talk) 15:23, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Machine exploding like slot machine

This page clearly says that the donation machine has a chance to explode when a coin is entered (like a slot machine), does anyone really have proof of this? I donated all the way up to 999 and I have added like 300 coins more (by removing them with bombs and putting them back later) but it has never exploded.

It doesn't say that the donation machine has a chance to explode, it says: "Much like a Slot Machine has a chance to explode after every coin inserted, a Donation Machine has a chance to jam after every coin donated." I can see how it could be confusing though, I removed the slot machine part since it's not really relevant. --Exschwasion (talk) 04:54, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

Glowing Hour Glass

It seems to be possible (I just did it in a run) to use the Glowing Hour Glass to rewind the shop run but the coins you put into the Donation Machine are NOT rewinded. I just went from around 200 coins to 999 coins and I am not sure if this should be added into the Wiki. Also I don´t know if this is a bug or should be that way. --Anon

There is a part at the bottom about the Glowing Hour Glass now. --Zamie (talk) 15:23, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Odds of becoming jammed

Can someone check the odds of jamming? The hourglass keeps the same amount donateable per time with the hourglass, and I found with a golden bomb + glowing hourglass that the amount you can donate changes after you bomb the machine. It's very easy to test: Donate coins to the machine, count how many. Reset the room with the hourglass. Next time, bomb the machine, leave the room, then re-enter and donate. I found the amount seems to be random (it went from 20, 9, 7, 5, to 39!). Most of the time the machine jams for me with less than 20, more like 10, but sometimes it jams way above that, beyond what I'd expect from odds of 5% per coin.

Firstly, please sign your posts using --~~~~. Secondly, please add all new topics to the bottom of each talk page. Now that that's settled, on to your note. The jam chance has been there for a while, and it seems that the numbers are genuine. There are no notes as to WHEN that number is generated, so it could very well be that an algorithm determines when a Donation Machine will jam, either at the start of a run, new floor, or whenever a room containing one is entered. I am unable to test for that sort of thing, but please feel free to test and share your findings here. All other dataminers can check this note, as I will leave it here for posterity. --JokerPixel (talk) 03:19, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
